Time to Give Back
|
December 2006 Edition
Issue 11
|
|
|
Amidst the frenzy of year-end deadlines, holiday
shopping, office parties, and 2007 planning, we clear
a little brain space and time for those
in need.
The first 11 months of 30-Second Current have
been dedicated to making money and buying stuff.
This issue is all about sharing it.
Even this newsletter gives back. For each reader
who clicks
here to visit
theONblog before January 15, theONswitch will
donate $1 toward education and health causes.
(Details on the blog.) Subscribe to the RSS feed,
and we'll up the donation to $2 per visitor.

Businesses Making a Difference
Transformers: Trends & Facts
From Bono's RED to
Starbucks Jumpstart, this has
certainly been the season for big brands openly and
loudly getting involved in "giving back."
Last-minute holiday shopping? Consider Presents
for Purpose, where every gift benefits a cause.
The good news is that you don't have to spend
money to donate money. GoodSearch is a creative new way to to give back while doing
everyday activities.
And if you manage a non-profit, check out Google
Grants.

Do Not Open Until 2007
More Amps: New Marketing Services
theONswitch has some exciting things planned for the new year,
but in the spirit of this issue, we're holding off on
tooting our own horn until 2007. (You can wait 30
days, can't you?)

Obscure Fact of the Month

Great Deeds
Building Buzz and Giving Back
Many clients of theONswitch make philanthropy a
year-round priority. For example...
The owners of Metro92
sponsored a Hudson River trip for Yonkers
kids through Beczak. They
also donated all their holiday gifts to a local charity
(selected by the employees).
Tayste
hosted a "Pajama Party" this month for 25
disadvantaged kids in conjunction with the Pajama
Program.
PFX
donated prom dresses and accessories to Operation
Fairy Dust.
Everything
Summer bought their holiday cards this
year from Tomorrow's
Children's Fund . A portion of
all proceeds goes towards research and treatment
for kids with cancer.
M Group, an accounting and consulting firm in White
Plains, contributed time and money to more than ten
community, local and national non-profits throughout
2006.
