I have not just jumped on the green bandwagon (or hybrid). I was a member of the Ecology Club in ninth grade, and I always recycle plastic bags and bottles. I have recently adopted some "greener" practices in business too (like cutting down on paper handouts and carpooling more).

Yes, the "green thing" has become something of a fad these days, but who can really argue with adopting new practices that can help defer global warming or make the planet a little prettier?

Green Mania?

Transformers: Trends & Facts

A Google search of "Green Business" reveals more than 218 million hits...everything from MBA programs to water-free toilets.

The "green economy" is estimated at $228 billion, according to the Washington Post.

And Americans are even willing to ante up $21 more a month of their own money to help slow global warming (up from $14 a month in 2003), according to a recent MIT poll.

So, what's fact? What's hype? And what's just another opportunity to earn more green? It may still be too soon to tell. But here's a great summary of how big business went a bit greener in 2006.
