Worried about the recession? Don't call the
police...join them! Police and security jobs are among
those believed to be "recession-proof." Here are
the others.

we're not saying that just because we're in the
business, either.) Read on.

extreme.)

Saving for a Rainy Day
More Amps: New Marketing Services
Many of our clients look to theONswitch to "bargain
shop" for them. We don't mark up third party services
or take commissions (on printing, media, web
programming, and event services), so we pass our
savings and volume discounts along to our clients.
We spend YOUR dollars as if they were ours.
According to
industry experts, social media is one of the most
cost-effective ways to market -- especially during a
recession. See New Clients/New Work for some
examples.
We invested in new databases too,
so our clients can enjoy access to a wide range of
media, stock photography, and celebrity contacts.

Building Buzz: New Clients/New Work
Oasis Day
Spa is splashing through the puddles! They
rolled back their Wednesday prices to 1998 levels as
a "recession beater" special and were featured in the
New York Times.
Columbia University's expansion plans may be
creating a
"Biohazard on the Hudson." theONswitch was
engaged by
West Harlem business
owner Nick Sprayregen to raise awareness of his
recent lawsuit and concerns about the environment.
We built his informational blog and spread the word
via viral marketing.
And there is good viral and bad viral. Half of all new
HIV infections in the U.S. are among people under
age 25, according to this site. We are helping a public health
advocate to promote his new brand of
condoms, which contain a clever message.
Donate your old smelly sneakers to Nike's "Reuse a
Shoe." Simply drop them off at Mrs. Green's Natural
Market in Mount Kisco from May 16th to 19th. Your old
footwear could wind up as a sports surface anywhere
around the world. The program is being sponsored
by theONswitch client New York Feet.
And I (Nancy) received two honors this month -- once
for my business accomplishments from the
Westchester Business Journal and
once for my wardrobe.

I never realized I was contributing to nasty landfill
waste when I disposed of my old umbrellas. The nice
folks at the Brelli booth at
Go Green Expo happily sold me an earth-friendly new
one. We can be dry, look cool, AND save the planet
too.
