Believe in Miracles
|
December 2008 Edition
Issue 32
|
|
|
December is filled with small miracles...whether you
believe in the religious variety or just the magic of the
season. We all hope for business and personal
miracles in the years ahead. But while we're making
wishes and lighting our candles and trees, remember
that the greatest power of all is the sheer force of
human kindness and community.
We're reprising our "let's be nice" offer (our
tradition since 2006). For
each reader who visits
theONblog or
Hippy to Wiki before January 15th, theONswitch
will donate $1 toward education/kids, health, and the
environment. Become a fan of theONswitch on Facebook and we'll
add another $1 to the donation for
each new fan between now and January 15th.
Have a wonderful holiday season and a healthy,
happy,and electric new year!

Better to Give Than to Receive
Transformers: Trends & Facts
Non-profits employ close to 10% of the workforce in
the U.S., according to this study.
Charitable giving reached $300 billion in
2007.
The future of many non-profits is uncertain, as donor
bases shrink. But social
capitalism seems to be on the upswing, and Harvard just
launched a program targeted to aging boomers
who want to give back.

Positive Holiday Energy
More Amps: New Juice at theONswitch Power Station
Social media can grow a business AND further your
non-profit's cause. We can use our NEON powers to
find donors via Facebook. We offer social
media workshops, packages, and one-on-one "Twitter
Tutoring" to help you use the web to find new sources
of $$. (Watch our
News 12 interview.)
We're filled with holiday glee because our Cornell
interns (Laura Willig and Zachary Carroll) will be re-
joining us over winter break. Welcome back!
