Well, it's about 20 business days (or 6% of the way) into the new year -- so you may have already blown your resolutions and fallen into a pit o' despair.
Or, you may (like us at theONswitch) still have that great "this year will be the most fabulous one" outlook. We hope it's the latter.
Remember, every day is a chance to look at where you might have erred the day before, and start fresh. (The Chinese New Year hasn't begun.)

Grape Pop Tart

You're not likely to mourn Grape Pop Tarts, but here are some other products and brands that suffered the same fate in 2007 as that sprinkled toaster pastry.

Babies now listen to Mozart and we all went Wii crazy last year, but good old fashioned Pyrex and oatmeal still rocked-on in 2007, according to these Amazon sales statistics.

So, what will be hot this year? Business Week describes innovation in 2008 as "one hairy beast." Here's why.

"Mom...I wanna do pedicures when I graduate college," may not be such a shocking thing to hear from your offspring this year. It's one of the top in-demand career paths for 2008. To see the other 29 growth fields, click here.

Building Buzz: New Clients/New Work
NewsFlash

Amazing, but true! A 300% increase in web traffic -- in just a week. That was the result of the YouTube promotion theONswitch developed for 66main, which was featured on CBS880, ABC-TV News and the local press -- all in one day.

And, that very same week, the NY press were all over the Yonkers Partners in Education breakfast and Summit, where Mike Bloomberg spoke. The New York Times ran a feature story.

We haven't been spending ALL our time in Yonkers. New clients this month include fashion boutique Nancy & Company, with stores on the Upper East Side and the Hamptons. We'll be helping them launch their new location and styling their website!

The next 30 days contain an eclectic mix of events, fundraisers, parties, and speaking gigs. Valentines Day is still a few weeks away, but our hearts are full of networking love and marketing passion.

We'll be joining THE GYM and the American Heart Association at the Go Red for Women Luncheon on February 8.

See us at our Hollywood (or Sundance) best on February 9 at The Picture House gala. theONswitch is helping turn this single-screen theater into a five-star cinema!

Yonkers Loves Renters. That's the theme of this pre-Valentines Day open house at 66main on February 12. Drink red vodka, tour amazing loft-style rentals (zoned for live/work), enjoy the romance of the Hudson River, and enter to win a Flip Video. Live in the city? Take the 5:30 New York Water Taxi (aka "The Love Boat").

theONswitch gears up for the lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer by presenting PR and marketing trends to camp directors at both the American Camp Association National Conference in Nashville and the Tri-State Camp Conference in Atlantic City. And we're helping send underprivileged kids to camp with a donation to the S.C.O.P.E. "camp reunion" fundraiser in NYC on January 31. We'll also reprise our camp/summer industry PR "co- op" this year. S'mores anyone?

Bubelle Dress

Soon, we won't have to talk at all to express emotions. Mental telepathy? No. It's the Bubelle Blush dress, which responds to emotional states by changing color. (It gives new meaning to the phrase, "I'm feeling a little blue today.)"

It's the Year of the Rat (a time of renewal). Bet you can't wait to read what's in your fortune cookie (and next month's 30-Second Current)!
