Obscure Fact of the Month
The cap and gown worn at graduation actually had its
roots in the 13th century (obviously before REAL
fashion was invented). Wow your friends and relatives
with your knowledge of
grad garb.

Blog...blog...blog...
This month,
theONblog offers screening and interviewing tips
(based on trial and error).
And
Hippy to Wiki compares graduation and first job
rituals and angst of the 1970's to those of today.

Highest Honors
Building Buzz: New Clients/New Work
Camp season has officially begun -- at least for the
media!
Summer Trails day camp was featured on ABC-
TV news.
We launched the American Camp Association - New
York Climb Everest! 2008 program in May, with
a PR training webinar and a "survival
kit" (complete with pedometer and climbing journal)
for 40+ participating camps. This unique program
encourages kids to get motivated, fit, and in touch with
nature.
The first-ever reusable press release (printed on a
cloth bag) that we created for Ecobags.com
will be featured in Exhibitor magazine.
And Go Green
Displays is selling lots of "Pandas" (no, not live ones!) with our
marketing help.
Only a few choice apartments remain at 66main in
Yonkers. This month, we continued our aggressive
online marketing efforts, setting a new record for web
traffic -- a whopping 1,200% increase in unique
visitors over 90 days. We added in "live"
promotion too, with eco-friendly mobile marketing
bicycles toruing downtown NYC. They also handed
out schedules for the New York Water Taxi service to the Yonkers
pier.

Random Sparks
Americans will spend $4.4 billion on graduation gifts
this year, according to one retail survey. Is there an engineer on your
gift list? How about these
totally cool socks? (I sure wish I had a pair in
high school chem.)
Have a recent college grad sleeping in your house
because he can't afford his own place? (Or because
you've made his bed his entire life and he knows he
has a good deal?) This
book helps 20-somethings get their career lives
on track. And this guide contains some stories from my own
post-college drama.
