Every summer at theONswitch I put this newsletter in the capable hands of our summer interns and recent grads.  This population represents 80 million young adults. (Of course, they should have a voice!)  They chose this "picnic" theme and even selected the photo for this introductory note -- I guess this is how they view us boomers.  So, I will breathe a deep sigh, be thankful for my wisdom of five decades (plus a bit more) and resume my editorial role in September (if I'm not too old to write by then!)

Obscure Fact of the Month
World's Largest Picnic... That's a lot of PB&Js!

The world's largest picnic according to the Guinness Book of World Records was set by 8,000 people in conjunction with the Santa Cruz town council who sat down to eat prepared meals brought from home at the Plaza de Espana, Santa Cruz, Tenerife, Spain on May 2, 1999.

Who knew picnics could be so controversial? A group in NYC also claimed to have broken the record. Watch the video here.

We helped "blanket" the media with mentions of the 7th Annual iStar Charity event, more than 9MM impressions... Check out
this event recap from the New York Post.

What's better than a picnic? A picnic on a boat! The New York Water Taxi has launched a new stop for commuters from Yonkers to Midtown.
Check it out and BYOBOB (Bring Your Own Breakfast on Board!)  We created the marketing plan and new ad campaign for the boat.

Not a juice box, not a Thermos...a think tank! This past month, Nancy A. Shenker facilitated one that discussed the future of the trade show.  A dozen prominent event executives gathered in Chicago to envision the "Trade Show of 2020."
