we are all farmers (sort of)September/October 2010 Edition

Issue 47
Dear friend/follower/colleague/random social media or real life connection:

FarmersMy autumn weekends have been spent, in part, at farmers' markets and fall festivals.  Although I do not own a tractor or hoe, the life of a business owner is not unlike that of a farmer.  We plant, we till and fertilize, we grow, we harvest, we go to market, and (in a good season) we prosper.  But, sometimes we have bad soil.  Or, our horse kicks us.  Whether your business is peas, pumpkins, products or professional services, you'll find something fresh and bountiful in this season's issue.

Wishing you abundance this fall,

new clients & new work
We've graduated from the one-room school house!  We delighted our educational clients with a wide range of services.  Check out the e-newsletters we produced for Inspirica and Bertram Educational Consultants.  And we completed a strategic marketing consulting engagement for the Madeira School in Virginia.

And while young minds are growing, so is the collection of original pickle recipes.  Check out Pickle Power to the People, the interactive cookbook we created this month for New York Deli Pickle (The pickles are now available in Fairway!) and Horman's Best.  Please add your own creation to the blog!

How are we gonna keep 'em down on the farm after they've seen a boost?  Our two summer camp clients, Fashion Camp NYC and Destination Science are so happy with the results we delivered that they've engaged us for 2011 marketing.

Maybe it's time to put old school consulting and problem-solving out to pasture.  Check out The 10 Day Solution, a new and faster way to improve your business performance...for good.  (We produced the website.)

Mind your peas and carrots!
Despite evidence linking fruit and vegetable consumption to better health, more than half of Americans (even those with easy access to fresh produce) are not consuming the recommended daily amount.  No dessert for you!

We will be conducting a series of hands-on social media workshops in October -- LinkedIn, Facebook, and Cool New Tools.

And yes, technology is sprouting up on the farm!  Here's a great article about tweeting from the tractor.  (And you can keep on top of crop production statistics by following the Department of Agriculture.)
